Things to do in Zurich (Zurich, Switzerland)

Here I will start with a list of things you should do in Zurich - it's going to develop over time. Though the city is not rated as one of the top towns to visit it is very charming and offers sights, places, restaurants, views, histrory, shops,...for nearly every taste. Furthermore, in amany areas it is rated as first class: such as music, chocolate :-), hotels, Museums, etc.

For sure it depends on how much time you have to spend.

  • Walk through Old Town
The old town is quite small; you can have a nice walk (approx. 2 h) right and left bank of the Limmat.
Don't miss Lindenhof, St.Peter, Schipfe, Niederdorf, Fraumünster (with Chagall windows), Sechseläutenplatz, etc.

  • Zoo
If you have time and enjoy going to the zoo you'll have a great day. Don't miss the Masoala Rainforest.  www.zoo.ch

Maybe enjoy a drink at the R21 Bar (Hotel Zürichberg) with a great view of Zurich and the  lake. It's not far from the zoo.
    The restaurant is also great!

  • Concert in the Tonhalle
It's known as one of Europe's best ensembles and the acoustics are brilliant.
If you like classical music it's a must.

  • Opera House
Though it's the smallest of the big opera houses it is one of the best and worth going.

  • Walk along the lake
  • Take a Zurich Lake boat tour.

  • Uetliberg
You can go up by tram. Either enjoy a drink or meal there or go on a nice walk to Felsenegg (approx. 2h).
There you can take the cableway down (Station: Adliswil) and go back via train.

At Felsenegg there is also a restaurant with a great terrace and beautiful view.
