For several years, Tübingen transforms early December into a paradise for chocolate lovers.
What at first glance looks like the typicla Christmas Market you would anticipate this time of year, turns out to be seduction of the senses.
The whole city is under the motto "chocolART": in restaurants, there are special menus, large and small chocolatiers from all over Europe offer their delicacies.
In the little cafés you can enjoy a Schokopresso instead of a simple cup of coffee. There are confectionery and cooking classes (book in advance), etc.
... and all within the cozy Old Town of Tübingen.
The Tourist Office offers interesting tours and in the evening, the beautiful half-timbered houses of the old town transform into a magical sea of lights.They are artfully lit so that there is enough to please your eyes, nose and especially the culinary delights will make you wish for more.
A great alternative in December love for all the chocolate.

Tübingen
This old, romantic university town is full of life and history. Situated approx. 30 km (19 mi) south of Stuttgart, it has events throughout the year; some of them connected with the university.
Tübingen was the home of many poets, philosophers and other famous people, such as Friedrich Hölderlin, Eduard Mörike, Georg W.F. Hegel, Johannes Kepler and many more.
The old town is quite small,but very pleasant with its steep little streets, old buildings, restaurants and cafés (many of them with terraces or gardens).

- Poled boat race (German: Storcherkahnrennen), 2nd Thursday of June, around the Neckar Island
- Umbrisch-Provenzalischer Markt, open air market for Italian and French products
